McAfee will pay for anti-virus mistake

Provides compensation for damaged Windows PCs, but corporate customers will receive nothing.
Anti-virus provider McAfee has decided to pay compensation to people who got their Windows computers put out of action for mistake update the scattered last week.
mcafeeThe error allowed the security software attacks the central parts of Windows XP, which resulted in crash and sustained a restart. Other platform should not have been affected.
Customers affected are encouraged to contact the company.

If engineers do not get your computer on your feet again promises the company to offer software that corrects the problem. Bug fixes can be downloaded from another (working) PC. McAfee also offers to send a CD in the mail to customers who desire it.
The company also promises to pay compensation to consumers for any expenses in connection with the disaster update, known as serial number 5958.
McAfee reports that they will cover the expenses "reasonable," and typical expenses you have had the consultation with a local PC technician. The company writes in a message that they will publish further details of the scheme within a few days.
Affected customers will also receive two year subscription added to their existing agreements, without charge, a plaster on the wound.
The offer applies only to retail customers. Business customers have so far not received any offer of compensation.
