Amazon is soon ready with a software update of its review board, and big brother Kindle Kindle DX.
Version 2.5 of the Kindle offers a number of improvements. Among other things, it becomes possible to organize the books and documents in one or more collections. For the first time it is also possible to password protect the tray.
The handling of PDF files are also rectified. It introduced a feature to zoom in on the documents to make it easier to take in small print, detailed tables and graphics.
Perhaps the most important news is integration with social network services like Facebook and Twitter.
According to Amazon, will people be able to share excerpts of their books with friends in such networks. This is done directly from the review board.
As a result, it is also possible to see what other Kindle users feel is the most interesting content of the books you read.
Music Streaming Service Spotify came earlier this week with a heavily upgraded version where the program integrated with Facebook. Here, users can, among other things, share playlists with their contacts.
The innovation of Kindle is emerging as a similar initiative, although it is unclear how the feature will work in practice. So far the Amazon sparse with the details.
Reading the board will also be access to a couple of new fonts through the update.
Broad deployment next month
Version 2.5 is already available for a limited number of devices. The other users get the update in late May, according to an announcement from Amazon.
As before, the Kindle reader board to receive updates fully automatically over the mobile device's network connection. It is thus not possible to refrain from upgrading.
