Apple said YES to the Opera

Norwegian Web browser ready for iPhone.

- Opera Mini is approved.
That said communications director Tor Odland, Opera Software.
opera We speak of course about the company's browser to the iPhone.
After 20 days, 8 hours and just over half an hour, it was very special Norwegian IT product is finally ready for the platform, after passing through Apple's approval procedure.
Opera Mini is now available in the App Store, where it is offered for free.

It is the first time a browser that is not based on Apple's Webkit browser engine offered iPhone users.
Opera Mini is unlike other browsers in that the processing of data takes place on the servers of Opera Software. There are data compressed, which makes browsing experience much faster for mobile users.
To provide an Opera browser is up to six times faster than the iPhone's own built-in Safari browser. Opera Mini is also equipped with several modern features as Safari on the mobile has not yet, like tabbed browsing and quick choice.
Less data sent to mobile phones means that users can save money by using the Norwegian browser. It also means that web browsing is possible on slower mobile networks, where the former hardly was possible to bring up a simple website.

For Opera Software, which earlier this week announced that they now have 100 million users, divided roughly equally between Opera Mini for mobile phones and the browser on the desktop, that is the PC version, this is very big news.
Not least, it opens a large market for the Norwegian IT company.
So far it is because at least sold 50 million iPhones in the world. Adding to the iPod touch (35 million sold) and the iPad, which has sold half a million units less than a week after launch, you will see that the potential is huge.
