Private accounts will remain free

Twitter launches payment accounts with additional functionality for businesses next year.

Many companies have already implemented Twitter as a communication channel, where the free and easy to communicate and create dialogue with customer groups.

Extended functionality - better equipped

The service will be voluntary and companies are in no way forced to create an account. Conversely, the new services, which include feedback and statistics, making companies better positioned in the use of the relatively new social media.

Twitter, which is valued at 1 billion U.S. dollars, has not yet developed a complete business model for micro-blog service's. Last month they entered into agreements for the implementation of the twitter search with both search giants Google and Microsoft's newcomer, Bing. If the introduction of payment accounts for businesses is a success, it will also cause a significant income for them.
