Monday Microsoft has again dropping a patch to correct problems that arose in the wake of the massive patch package that was released on 13 October. It is the third time Microsoft release patch to fix things up after the first security update.
Monday's fix concerns MS09-054, update that patched together four critical vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer.
According to Christopher Budd, a spokesman for the Microsoft Security Response Center, just released patch fixes the issue trouble viewing web pages arose when MS09-054 was released.
Through the wide channels
A Microsoft support document explaining more details about the errors MS09-054 caused. One wrong calculation placement of elements on the sites, while the other gives an error "Type mismatch" script errors on pages that use VBScript or a combination of VBScript and JavaScript.
Errors can occur in all supported Microsoft browsers on all Microsoft operating systems, and was serious enough that the company chose to promote the update through Windows Update, Microsoft Update and Automatic Updates.
According to Computer World's international news service, Budd argues, however, that the number of affected users is "limited".
Not uncommon to update Updates
13. October-patch package should fix 34 vulnerabilities. Already the day after Microsoft had to release an update to service pack that fixed a problem in the MS09-056. Last Tuesday they released a patch that made the fixes in MS09-062.
However, it is not the first time Microsoft updates in the wake of updates. Last week, for example, Microsoft patched a bug that occurred in August-update, and in June 2008, Microsoft also had to patch a patch.
