What Should you Choose when by new Computer.
I sometimes get questions about what is best of Mac and PC, I thought I could write something about it then so that people get some info from someone who has been in business for some years. I have no strong feelings for or against one or the other, that characterizes the question most is perhaps the intensity of their supporters, for both sides have some loud fans with firm opinions.
Today is a PC and a computer from Apple similar function, but uses a different operating system as a kind of "de facto" standard even though they can drive each other's operating systems and software. It does not necessarily mean that one is better or worse than the other, only that they are different. For some, the Mac and OSX (Mac OS 10) to be the best choice, the other is a PC with Windows preferred. The strongest supporters on both sides will tell the opponent's machine and the software is rubbish, but this it not necessarily.
Traditionally, the Mac has been best in media production, to work with sound and graphics / video, and still is perhaps most prevalent in industries that are doing such things, for example. Advertising, design, video / film production, etc. The big difference between PC and Mac in this area gradually disappeared many years ago, and it is easy to do these things on a PC, and the selection of software tools is at least as much on the PC on the Mac. Others probably have a different opinion on this.
You can run Windows on a Mac as well, with Boot Camp, you can choose between Windows and OSX in the inception, and it is possible to run many Windows programs inside OSX using virtualization. Do you already have a good Mac, there is little practical reason to change course. If you should have a new machine and know that you will spend a lot of Windows programs that are usually cheaper out of it with a new PC than with a new Mac, and the performance is not worse.
One thing that is often discussed is the price, and that it should be so much more expensive to buy a Mac. It is a truth with modifications. I'm talking about laptop computers here now, since it now sold more notebooks than desktops.
A Mac is a brilliant machine, and is built with solid quality parts for high performance and professional use. One may well say it is built like a tank. It is all well and good, but as a normal home user you rarely need the most robust, providing the very best, and it is perhaps useful with a machine that works the same way as most other machines. By choosing freely among numerous manufacturers of parts can PC manufacturers produce machines with similar performance at a lower price than what a Mac would cost.
One thing that does not depend on and individual opinions is the prevalence of these competing machine types. Mac lay around 10% in USA. The rest of the market is mostly PC with Windows, some are running Linux or something else instead of Windows.
So what exactly is the best of Mac and PC? It is like asking "which camera is best" or "the mobile is the best". It depends on what you're used to and know, what you need, etc. If you are a media producer, it may be okay to use the same platform as much of the industry, while domestic needs people not to take it in to consideration. It's really up to you.
