A faster version of the popular antivirus

Also the free version will be significantly improved.

AVG Technologies announced today that a new generation of the company's family of security software, specifically AVG 9.0 will be available in mid-October. This also applies to AVG Free, which is without comparison the most downloaded Windows software on the site Download.com.

Shorter scanning time has been given high priority in the new version of antivirus and antispyware tool, since AVG feel this is of critical importance to its customers.
At the first scan, the files will be marked as safe or potentially unsafe. Ensure files are scanned when not multiple times since the file structure is unchanged. This will reduce the scan time up to 50 percent. This will however depend on the system settings.

It promised also between 10 and 15 percent reduction in the use of memory.

AVG 9.0 combines the use of signature-based protection against known threats, including whitelist-based technologies that will help to combat the large number of new threats that appear daily.

The information would also be shared with other modules in the solution, including firewall and identity protection. This will cause the firewall far less frequently will have to ask the user whether the incoming connections id going to be allowed.

Anti-phishing solution LinkScanner should have been faster and be more accurate to determine whether a website is a host to a phishing attack.

The user interface in the full version of AVG 9.0.

Also the look and feel for AVG 9.0 will be renewed with a simpler design. The installation process should be significantly shortened, while it will be easier for people to discover other security products that can lead to conflict with AVG 9.0.

The simpler free version, AVG Free 9.0 will be available for download from mid-October.
