Light Switch is a new tool in Microsoft Visual Studio, designed for end users.
From 2 to 6 August is on a developer conference in the Microsoft registry, Visual Studio Live (VSLive). In his opening speech announced Visual Studio manager Jason Zander a brand new developer tools, Light Switch, designed to develop business applications without coding.
The target group for Light Switch is provided to business users so that they get an option in the gap between the standard Visual Studio tools such as Excel, Access and SharePoint.
On her blog tells Zander that Light Switch can build applications to run locally or in the web cloud, and that the tool can relate to a variety of data sources, in addition to building their own tables. An application can retrieve data from both local and remote locations.
During the demonstration the developer conference, it was built an application to combine the data from a local server, a remote SharePoint list and Azure a SQL database in the web cloud.
Developer through the process of help texts, adapted functions. All standard data types, such as e-mail address and phone, has built-in validation. Applications can be extended with such search. Screens can be tailored in the very Light Switch interface.
Since Light Switch is based. Net and Visual Studio, all applications processed in Visual Studio. The underlying code generated in the optional Visual Basic or C #.
A beta of Light Switch will be available for download from Microsoft dedicated Light Switch Page 23 August. The tool will initially be sold as a standalone product.
