- YouTube was open to scripting attack

Google's video service was attacked at the weekend.

Google has removed a vulnerability in the company's video service, YouTube, after users reported that they had discovered that malicious script code was added in comments to several of the videos on the site.

Attacks should have happened Sunday, in conjunction with the American Independence day.

There have been reports that the attack script should have led to major damage, except that to some extent, made the comments on YouTube videos offline. Instead comments were replaced including the pop-up texts;

"BREAKING NEWS: Justin Bieber died in a horrific car accident Earlier this morning. Please visit the   CNN  web site for more info.
In an e-mail to IDG News Service writes a spokesman for Google that the comments were removed during an hour after the problem was discovered, and that a complete vulnerability fixes were made ready in about two hours.

- We will continue to study the vulnerability in order to better prevent the equivalent cases in the future, writes spokesman.
