Plans call for the new user interface deployed on Commons first. Then follow the English edition of Wikipedia, other Wikipedia editions, and finally a number of sister projects. This type Naoko Komura on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation group of user experiences in a blog post.

Today's standard looks, Mono Book, will be replaced with Vector design. In addition, today's toolbar for editing get replaced with a new and more transparent Toolbar, which, among other things, provided dialogs for the insertion of links, and tables. The news will be familiar to users who have already tested the beta version, which has been available since last August.
The work is done to make it easier for non-technologists to contribute content to Wikipedia and sister projects.

There are many who will be affected by this change. Anyone who visits Wikipedia anonymously, will be offered Vector design. The same will be logged-in users who have not changed the default settings. Users who have adopted special scripts or styles may come to find that these no longer function as before.
The same applies to various types of gadgets that are available through user settings.
Remote software and Web applications that are based on the MediaWiki API will not be affected by the change. It can however happen that the application that retrieves data from the current web, no longer will work.
But Komura expects that many such tools already built in support for the Vector, based on the beta version, which is still available.
There will still be possible to return to the old design with the help of user settings.
