Removes over 80 vulnerabilities in the Mac OS X

Apple came in yesterday with an update to Mac OS X Snow Leopard, which provides the operating system version number 10.6.3. The update, if it is downloaded manually, is over 700 megabytes. It will remove at least 88 different vulnerabilities in the operating system and in the included open source products. In addition, there are a number of bug fixes and improvements that are not security related.

Vulnerabilities, many of which are deemed critical and therefore could be exploited to gain full system control, is divided into several components. This includes the AppKit, QuickTime, Core Media, CoreTypes, Disk Images, ImageIO and Image RAW, as well as open source third party products as Apache, ClamAV, MySQL, PHP.
