Microsoft get Web application platform

At the Mix09 conference last week Microsoft announced that they launch t “Web Platform”, a site that will make it easier for developers of web applications to distribute their applications. Web Platform supports both .NET and PHP applications.

Webmasters can submit their software to get it distributed on the Web Platform. After the first approval, then it is the developer who is responsible for hosting all of the files, so you can easily deliver updates. Microsoft delivers the Web Platform Installer, which sets up an environment with IIS, SQL Server 2008 Express, .NET framework, and, if necessary, PHP and MySQL.
Among the applications that already exist on the platform, are Wordpress, DotNetNuke, Drupal, and Gallery. This is known and large applications that you can browse through the Web Site Web App Gallery. Currently, the categories include blogs, content management (CMS), gallery and wikis. The entire Microsoft Web Platform can be found at Microsoft.com / Web.
