Toshiba's 2.5 inch adds a new list of capacity, rotational speed and interface.
Toshiba announced last week the company's first 2.5 "hard drive series designed for servers and storage systems. The units in the hard drive series MBF2xxxRC can create up to 600 gigabytes of data. They support while a rotation speed of up to 10,025 rpm.

This will be the first 2.5-inch hard drive that combines the high rotation speed with such a high storage capacity.
Hard drives are equipped with 6 Gbps SAS interface. They support a feature called EPCS (Enhanced Power Conditioning State) to be able to reduce power consumption by 28 percent, compared with traditional hard drives for enterprises, in that the rotation speed can be adjusted as needed.
Some of the models in the series will also be delivered in even encrypted rendering issues. These should be designed in accordance with the Enterprise Security Subsystem Class specification to the Trusted Computing Group.
Hard drives are equipped with 16 megabytes of storage and has an average seek time of between 4.0 and 4.4 milliseconds. Hard drives weigh up to 220 grams and is 15 millimeters thick.
The maximum transfer rate is stated to be 216 megabytes per second.
The series also includes hard drives with capacity of respectively 300 and 450 gigabytes.
