Serious vulnerability in Internet Explorer

May cause malicious full access to the system.

Security company Secunia alert Yesterday that it has found a critical vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer. This can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system. Internet explorer

The vulnerability is caused by an error in the layout-interpretation and can be exploited to corrupt memory on the machine by convincing a user to open a specially crafted Web page in IE. This may in turn open to execution of arbitrary code.

Currently, the vulnerability confirmed in IE6 on Windows XP SP2 and IE7 on Windows XP SP3, but other versions of the browser may be vulnerable.

Secunia advises users of the affected sites to disable scripting support for all the sites you do not know you can rely on.
