Microsoft's joy over Bing's progress has been short-lived.
After four months, several people return to Google, shows figures for StatCounter.
The company publishes monthly figures on the use of the various search engines in the United States. These show a dramatic relapse of Bing, and a boost for Google, which has toppled over 90 percent of all search again.
Curious
Last month fell Bing-search with over one percentage point, from 9.64 percent to 8.51 percent. As of October 1, the use of Bing back to 6.65 percent.
It means that Microsoft has lost many of the curious backs to its competitors.
Also measured on a global basis, the figures is dark for Microsoft. According to StatCounter using messages 3.25 percent Bing, a slight decrease from 3.58 percent the previous month. That trend may be worse, the figures from 1 October.
When the market fell to Bing less than 3 percent limit, down to 2.89 percent.
Embarrassing decline
Although it is too early to say definitely whether the development,it seems, that Microsoft's search offensive has stranded. Could the company the first few month's hope for a continuous rise, the figures from September is a strong sign that even those who have tried Bing quickly become bored.
It also means that Microsoft deal with Yahoo has not yielded the desired result. Yahoo switching to Bing would boost the use of search engine. But after the recent months the numbers have come up looking either out that the opposite happens, namely that Bing drag down the market share of Yahoo.
Embarrassing enough is in fact Yahoo's market share now on the way down. In the United States fell the company from 10.50 percent to 9.40 percent. Overall, the shrinking market share to Microsoft and Yahoo Bing from 20.14 percent to 17.91 percent. There is a decline of around ten percent.
Win Lord
- This is a clear trend. Although it is too early to call Microsoft's search project failed, the company should be worried, "said Aodhan Cullen, CEO of StatCounter.
Microsoft has after rumors used $ 100 million in an advertising campaign to put Bing on the market.
And where there are losers there are also winners, in this case Google. The company reached 90-percent limit again. In recent months, Google has had to give some space to Bing.
